Image needs to be square or portrait. it will be cropped to a tight image so that all the information can be seen.
avoid any backgrounds with no details to break up the models silhouette.
add things in the background so that the silhouette of the model is not so defined.
due to the process the image will lose colour
avoid large areas of white or black on parts of the model as this makes the design come through and will disrupt the image. its okay if areas of the background have some white in them as its okay if the design comes through on this since they arent the focus.
consider how loss of colour will affect the image. the artist will be editing the images brightness and contrast so that the image is clear as best as they can.
due to the process there will be some loss of detail in the image and in most cases some of the design will come through in some parts, usually in the darker and lighter areas. the design is directly related to the image hidden under it so it is up to the artist to make this design and there needs to be freedom with this so it will work. the artist will use patterns and aesthetic lines so that the final piece will look as beautiful as it can be.
